You have to figure out what piece goes where before you mount the system to your bike. In my instance, the phone case, handlebar mount, the vibration damper, and the wireless charging head all came in different boxes. The Quad Lock system is modular, so you get separate pieces to build your system. That said, the directions are not the clearest in the world. It took me less than 10 minutes to mount the whole setup. Installation, including the vibration mount and the wireless charging head, is a breeze. However, it is so smooth that you have to be a bit careful while holding on to it.įor this test, I used the handlebar mount. Photo: Mike BotanĪccording to Quad Lock, the case is made “…with a tough polycarbonate core and impact absorbing TPU edge to edge outer shell…” The case is smooth, so it slides easily into and out of your pocket. The attachment point on the back of he phone. Because, I often carry my phone in my pocket, I didn’t want the mounting point poking me as I walked or make it more difficult to remove the phone from my pocket. ![]() I was worried that it would create an overly large bulge on the back of the case. You can get Quad Lock cases for many phones, including Galaxy, Pixel, iPhone, and Huawei.īefore I got one, I was concerned about the phone’s built-in mounting point. They fit tightly and securely to your phone (as they should). While the adapter is cheaper than the phone case, for an ADV type of application, the phone-specific Quad Lock cases are probably your best bet. To use the Quad Lock Pro system, you must use one of Quad Lock’s phone cases unless you are willing to use their adhesive universal adapter. You also get a USB-A to USB-C cable with the charging head. Quad Lock claims that the unit is “IP 66 water resistant allowing you to ride through the elements.” Quad Lock also says that the charging head offers fast charging with 5, 7.5, and 10-watt capability. If you are also using Quad Lock’s “Weatherproof Wireless Charging Head,” it is made largely of metal but has some plastic parts. It’s the rubber pegs that supposedly reduce the vibration of the phone.Ī side view of the Quad Lock vibration damper (note the rubber grommets) below the Quad Lock wireless charging head. The vibration absorbing system consists of two semi-free-floating layers of plastic with three rubber pegs between them. That said, if you are going to use the vibration damper with the Quad Lock Pro, some plastic and rubber will be involved. Now, the Quad Lock Pro is also available in a fork stem mount. One is the type that many of us are familiar with, and that’s the good ole’ handlebar mount. The Quad Lock Pro is available with two different types of mounting systems. The original Quad Lock is made from glass-filled nylon and comes assembled with a blue lever and stainless steel hardware. The new Quad Lock PRO is made with black anodized CNC machined aluminum and comes assembled with a black lever and black stainless steel hardware. If you wonder what the difference is between the original Quad Lock and the Quad Lock Pro, the major difference is the unit’s construction. ![]() But first, let’s talk about the Quad Lock Pro system and construction. I have come up with a couple of non-scientific but hopefully real-world tests that should give you an idea of how well the Quad Lock Pro holds your phone, the effect of the system’s vibration damper, and charging. As such, I agreed to test/review the setup. Better still, Quad Lock didn’t place any restrictions on the testing methodology. Recently, Quad Lock offered to send me their new Quad Lock Pro mounting system, including their vibration damper and wireless charging head, to test. Instead of surrounding the phone, it uses a low-profile locking mechanism that attaches to your phone’s back-that system is called the Quad Lock and Quad Lock Pro. They cradle and surround the phone with varying degrees of retention.īut one moto-specific mount uses a somewhat different system. There are many different types of solutions, including solid mounts, X-mounts, X-mounts with rubber bands, spring release claw-like mounts, etc. ![]() As a result, having a smartphone close at hand is becoming a necessity versus a “nice to have.” Motorcycle riders are no exception, and they are often looking for secure ways of mounting their phones to their bikes. From Mpix, I uploaded the same pictures and told them they could do there technician based auto-correction. I am also waiting from some pics from, but with shipping it is more money and I like getting my pictures right away, but I will add a note here when I get the pictures from them, I am hoping they will be here by Friday. At the end of the day I like the colors I get from Target so I guess I will go there. I printed 14 pictures, some B&W some full color. And finally one of my black and whites had a very obvious line going through the top of the pic about 1/3 of the way down, it looks like the printer did not print a few lies right in that area. Target is nice though if you ask for an envolpe they have very study posterboard like ones to give you in several different sizes, at Wal-Mart you have to hold your pictures there is no envelopes. The Kodak machines on the other hand, are very open, the pics pop out one at a time right there by your knees into a tray, it seems to me that dust is more likely to get into the printer, also no security so you have to wait for your pics or someone could take them, when I was at Target today the first machine did have somebody's pictures sitting there for anyone to see or take. Wal-mart has a better set-up in that they give you a ticket to scan, and when you pics are done you can open a sliding door and your pictures fall down from the machine into the tray, basically the pictures are printed inside of a machine, they are protected. Also one of the pictures had a tiny piece of string fall onto it, and it is imbedded in the pic. I am talking about an 1/8th of an inch from the bottom. But they was one problem with Target, Two of the pictures had been cut-off slightly more than the ones from Wal-mart. So I guess I will be printing from Target. They are printed on Kodak XTRALIFE paper, and they looked really good, better than anything from Wal-Mart. They did not have any option for auto-correct. I printed all of the same pictures, they have no option for matte that I could see, so the pictures are glossy. Then I went to Target and used there Kodak Machines. The HP machines there use HP Vivid Photo Paper. So I would say if you print and Wal-Mart, use your own settings and print Matte. And the Matte pics looked so much better. Again my pics from Microsoft Auto-correct looked better. Then i printed 2 pics in matte, I printed them with my original auto-correct settings and with HP settings. But then again they had already been auto-corrected on my laptop. To me the pictures that I corrected in Microsoft look better, HP made the pics look worse. The I printed 2 more pictures without doing the auto correct. I let the HP machines (that they use) do there own auto correcting on top of my auto-corrected pics from Microsoft Photo Gallery. Today I went to Wal-mart and printed some 4圆 photos. They are put into Microsoft Photo Gallery and I use auto-correct and they usually look great and I consider them ready to print. My pictures are jpeg fine, from my Canon SX50HS. ![]() 8/13/2023 0 Comments Tim and moby coronavirus![]() The Smashing Pumpkins and Sting also performed while future headliner Neil Young cancelled. That’s not to say some herbs can’t improve reproductive health, but there’s no evidence steaming them into your vagina does so. Vaginal steaming may increase your risk of vaginal infection by altering the vaginal bacteria ecosystem. It’s possible vaginal steaming may make you relax and ease cramping like a heating pad does, but evidence it cleanses your vagina or uterus, improves fertility, and balances hormones is purely anecdotal. There aren’t any accepted medical guidelines for steaming your vagina. Using it as target practice for a plume of warm steam may cause vaginal burns or scalding. Vaginal skin is delicate, sensitive, and easily traumatized. An overheated vagina may provide the perfect environment for bacteria that cause yeast infections and other vaginal infections to thrive. One study found that the reasons for this practice focused on “women’s bodies as deficient and disgusting” and propagated a negative female self-image. Another view is that the reason for this being promoted is cultural, not physical. Considering this, a sitz bath or simply soaking in a warm tub might have the same effect. One benefit may be that the moist heat from the steam increases blood flow to the vaginal area, though this isn’t well-studied.
